Trust-Building Is Key to the Multiplication of Suhba Groups

Translating the stories of scripture is the heart of Engaging Worlds, and it isn’t easy. It is a process that involves identifying and creating trusting relationships with people in Muslim communities that know the language well, understand the context and culture, and have a willing heart to help in creating translations.

With these translations in hand, leaders of our Suhba groups (or Muslim community groups) can begin engaging Muslims around them with the truths of scripture’s stories. Group leaders like Nancy.

Nancy connected with Engaging Worlds nearly a decade ago, and her life has never been the same.

Since participating in a Muslim community group, the Holy Spirit opened Nancy’s eyes to the hope within the stories of scripture. This ignited an overwhelming passion to share this hope and these stories with other Muslim women in her community.

How did she do this? Through leading a group of her own!

But these groups didn’t happen overnight.

Before the initial meeting, translations had to be completed, connections made, and deep trust built. Nancy worked for months and even years to bring scripture stories to as many people as possible (especially women)!

Without the translations, there would be no content for the group. Without the connections, there would be no participants. Without the trust, there would be no heart impact.

Nancy has dedicated countless hours to this work, resulting in her leading multiple, life-changing Suhba groups within the Philippines. The impact she has seen from sharing these stories is so great that she is planning to begin even more groups in Indonesia!

Nancy's story isn’t unique; it is the story of all our Muslim community group leaders. These men and women are driven to share the hope they have found in scripture. In each case, it started with one connection that grew into a relationship built on trust and empowered with scripture resources, resulting in the expansive spread of God’s Word with others searching for truth.

The impact is just starting, and you can be a part of it. By funding a story, you’ll help provide these passionate leaders with the scripture translations they need to spread truth and hope with those in their communities.
